Known issue
As of Chrome version 88 and Edge version 88, video sharing leads to a black video for attendees while the moderator sharing the video can actually see it. This is a known bug within the browsers itself and the report can be found here.
Work around 1: Use Firefox
Switch to Firefox, as Firefox is not affected by the bug itself.
Work around 2: Share screen
Share your screen rather than the video and use your media player to play the video in
Work around 3: Disable hardware acceleration
As of Chrome version 88.0.4324.146 you can also disable hardware acceleration:
- Open Chrome and click the vertical ellipsis at the top-right corner.
- Click Settings.
- In the “Search settings” field, search “Use hardware”.
- Disable “Use hardware acceleration when available” and click “Relaunch.”
