Tracking user locations

Users can allow (or deny) adding a location to their CMNTY Platform contributions. Location tracking is deactivated by default, but users can activate location tracking on their profile page by allowing the browser to track the location for this site. Once activated, the users’ location will automatically be added to their contributions (challenge idea, forum topic and journal entry only). Locations are indicated with a city and will be displayed only in the posted items in the front-end. Location data is not in the exports for this content. The locations are only visible for Community Managers.

To enable/disable Location Tracking:

  1. Go to the Admin section of your CMNTY Platform.
  2. Select Configure.
  3. Under General, select Platform Configuration.
  4. Under Options, enable/disable the Location Tracking switch and save.
