You can create a new Board in Forum for your CMNTY Platform by following the steps below:
- Go to Activities at the top menu in Admin.
- Choose Forum from the dropdown.
- Click Add Board in the overview.
Hiding “Start New Discussion” Button on Forum
The Forum offers a message board where users create discussions on various topics. When you want to control the topics discussed, it’s helpful to prevent participants from creating new discussions. We offer the ability to hide the “Start New Discussion” button for a given board with a simple button in the backend when creating the board.
The button named “allow adding discussions for participants” will decide if participants are allowed to add new discussions.
Closed Board
A closed Board in the Forum module will still be visible to users, but the users will be disallowed from posting comments on the discussion. You can close a topic by following these steps:
- Go to Publish at the top menu in Admin.
- Choose Forum at the left menu.
- Choose the Board to close.
- Underneath Board settings, you will see different options. Click the button underneath Closed to ON.
Only close a topic you would like to disallow member comments on in the front-end.
