Zapier allows connections between CMNTY and other software you use. If you have already set-up a Zapier integration with your CMNTY site, then you have the ability to connect CMNTY with numerous applications, including Slack and Gmail.
We are working to further develop and improve triggers and actions available through Zapier. Currently available triggers are:
- New Member
Triggers when a new user subscribes to your community platform. - New Frozen Member
Triggers when a user is frozen by a community manager. - New Signed-off Member
Triggers when a user has left the community (signed-off).
Currently available actions:
- Send Invite
Make the platform send an email invite to someone. - Give Points
Make the platform give points to a member.
Our current triggers are great to maintain real-time notifications on new member sign-ons and sign-offs through Slack or Gmail. Below are instructions to configure and add CMNTY notifications to Slack and Gmail through an existing Zapier account. Multiple actions can be associated with a singular trigger as a paid Zapier member, so you only have to make one zap per trigger.
Slack
- Sign into a Zapier account connected to CMNTY and select “Make a Zap” on the top right
- Select CMNTY from “Your Apps”
- Select the trigger to use for this notification (only one trigger can be selected per zap)
- Select CMNTY account and test the trigger to be sure it is accurate (if information isn’t available, skip the test)
- Select Slack as the Action App
- Select desired action (using Send Channel Message for this example)
- Select Slack account and channel to post message to
- In Message Text, use the top right “plus” icon to add CMNTY information to the message
- Select how you want the message to appear in Slack and Continue
- Test the Zap and be sure it posts to your Slack channel
- Name the Zap and Finish
Gmail
- Sign into a Zapier account connected to CMNTY and select “Make a Zap” on the top right
- Select CMNTY from “Your Apps”
- Select the trigger to use for this notification (only one trigger can be selected per zap)
- Select CMNTY account and test the trigger to be sure it is accurate
- Select Gmail as the Action App
- Select desired action (using Send Email for this example)
- Select Gmail account and test to be sure it is connected
- Select To to set who receives the email, then add a Subject and Body, use the top right “plus” icon to add CMNTY information to the text
- Test the Zap and be sure you receive the email
- Name the Zap and Finish
