CMNTY Hub allows for a number of functions to manage and maintain platforms. Through Hub you can Activate, Update, Edit, Pause, Internal Use, Protect, or Delete platforms. Below we cover these options and share tips on using them.
Activate Hub Platforms
Activating a platform takes an existing platform and You can activate a platform in Hub by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform information in the overview.
- Click Activate.
You can pause, set to internal use, and activate platforms whenever and as often as you want. Do note that the minimum running time for a platform is one day. Thus, even if you activate a platform for just a couple of hours, you will be charged for 1 day.
Update Hub Platforms
We release updates every two weeks and it is important to keep your Hub platforms up-to-date since we do not auto-update those platforms unless requested for the entire hub. You can update a platform by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform to update in the overview.
- Choose the latest update from the list of available updates.
- Click Update.
Edit Hub Platforms
Edit section for platforms allow you to update the name of a platform, change the type of platform, or protect your platform in Hub. You can edit a platform by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform to edit in the overview.
- Update name, type or protect the platform.
- Click Save.
Paused Hub Platforms Paused platforms cannot be accessed anymore. Not by you and not by community members. You do not have to pay for paused platforms and you can always activate them again. You can pause a platform by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform to pause in the overview.
- Select or add a paused platform message.
- Click Save.
Internal Use Hub Platforms
New platforms are automatically set to Internal Use when created. Internal use allows admin users to access the platform for set-up, but any members of the platform will be unable to access until activated. You can mark a platform as internal use in Hub by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform information in the overview.
- Click Internal Use and confirm Mark as Internal Use.
You can mark platforms as internal use whenever and as often as you want. Do note that the minimum running time for a platform is one day. Thus, even if you mark a platform as internal use for just a couple of hours, you will be charged for 1 day.
Protect Hub Platforms
Protected platforms cannot be updated or edited in Hub. The platform remains fully functional and protected status does not affect users or admins accessing the community. Protected is most useful if your Hub is set to auto-update as protected status prevents these updates; this is most useful for live platforms with design customizations or settings that may be affected by the newest update as you can test and review the update before making it live for the platform. You can protect a platform by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform to edit in the overview.
- Check the Protect box.
- Click Save.
Delete Hub Platforms
Platforms marked for deletion are shown as such in Hub and are inaccessible. The CMNTY team has the ability to purge them from your Hub server for space. We typically leave these in the deleted state unless requested by the client to purge the platform, typically to reclaim the disk space used for the platform. A deleted platform can be undeleted until purged from the server. You can delete a platform by following these steps:
- Use the Action drop-down menu next to your platform to delete in the overview.
- Confirm the deletion and click Delete.
